 Tickets are on pre-sale from today and on general public sales from Friday for the much-anticipated season of the celebrated rock musical JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, which will open at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre in November.

 Following huge acclaim and sold-out seasons in London as well as an extensive tour of North America, the Olivier Award-winning reimagined production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s celebrated musical will play at the Capitol Theatre where the original Australian production began in 1972, ahead of a national tour.

 Produced by John Frost and David Ian for Crossroads Live, in association with Work Light Productions, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR features lyrics and music by Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony winners Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. This production was reimagined by London’s Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre where it originated and is helmed by director Timothy Sheader and choreographer Drew McOnie. Completing the creative team is design by Tom Scutt, lighting design by Lee Curran, sound design by Nick Lidster and music supervision by Tom Deering.

A global phenomenon that has wowed audiences for decades, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR’s iconic 1970s rock score was originally released as a concept album and opened on Broadway in 1971. The original Australian production opened at the Capitol Theatre, Sydney in May 1972, followed by seasons at the Palais Theatre, Melbourne and other cities, playing for more than 700 performances. The original London production ran for over eight years. By the time it closed after 3,358 performances, it had become the longest-running musical in West End history at that time.

JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR has been reproduced regularly around the world in the years since its first appearance, including a Broadway revival in 2012, an ITV competition TV show called Superstar that led to casting Ben Forster as Jesus for an arena tour of the show, and a production at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre celebrating 45 years since the musical’s Broadway debut. An Australian arena tour featuring John Farnham, Jon Stevens, Kate Ceberano, Angry Anderson, Russell Morris and John Waters toured Australia in 1992 to sell-out performances.

JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary series of events during the final weeks in the life of Jesus Christ, as seen through the eyes of Judas. Reflecting the rock roots that defined a generation, the legendary score includes I Don’t Know How to Love Him, Gethsemane and Superstar.

This production of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR won the 2017 Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival and the 2016 Evening Standard Award for Best Musical, selling out two consecutive engagements in 2016 and 2017. The production played a West End engagement at the Barbican in 2019 before returning to Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in concert version during the summer of 2020.

This entertaining tribute to James Cameron's epic film will dock in Sydney in September 2024 for its Australian debut. Nearly three decades after Titanic first hit cinemas, its cultural significance endures. Near, far, wherever you are, make your way to the Harbour City to experience 'Titanique,' playing an exclusive season at The Grand Electric in Surry Hills.

"I am so excited that Sydney will be the next stop on Titanique's international cruise. Titanique is a nonstop waterfall of pure joy that will literally melt your troubles away. Exact dates and the length of the show's run have not yet been announced, nor has the casting for the roles originally played by Leonardo DiCaprio (Jack) and Kate Winslet (Rose).

Premiering in Los Angeles in 2017 and hitting off-Broadway in 2022, 'Titanique' is set for future performances in Toronto, Montreal, and London. The production has garnered three Lucille Lortel Awards, two Dorian Awards, and the Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best New Musical, among other accolades.

Co-writers Tye Blue, Marla Mindelle (Sister Act), and Constantine Rousouli (Cruel Intentions) — with Mindelle and Rousouli originally starring as Céline and Jack — have woven in a plethora of Dion’s hits, from 'My Heart Will Go On' to 'Where Does My Heart Beat Now' and 'A New Day Has Come'.

Australia, the Mormons are back! The Tony®, Olivier® and Grammy®award-winning production THE BOOK OF MORMON will return to Sydney from July 2025.

Winner of nine Tony Awards® including Best Musical and the Grammy® for Best Musical Theatre album, The Book of Mormon follows a pair of mismatched Mormon boys sent on a mission to a place that’s about as far from Salt Lake City as you can get. It will premiere at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney from July 2025.

THE BOOK OF MORMON made its world premiere in March 2011 at Broadway’s Eugene O’Neil Theatre. The London production opened in February 2013 at the Prince of Wales Theatre, winning four Olivier Awards®, including Best New Musical.

The show has set house records at 27 theatres across the US and broke theatre sales records at New York’s Eugene O’Neill Theater more than 50 times. The London production broke box office records for the highest single day of sales in West End history.

The Australian premiere season in Melbourne in 2015 broke the record for the highest selling on-sale period of any production in Melbourne’s Princess Theatre’s 159-year history and also won the Helpmann Award for Best Musical.

Hayes Theatre Co today announced an exceptional cast for their Australian premiere of the viral musical sensation Ride The Cyclone. This striking and critically acclaimed musical blends comedy and tragedy, inspiring millions of views on TikTok and becoming a social media mega-hit.

The exciting fresh young cast that will slay on stage this May comprises Natalie Abbott (Zombie! Producer John Frost for Crossroads Live today announced the full cast for Neil Simon’s Tony Award-winning comedy The Odd Couple, which plays at Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre from May and Theatre Royal Sydney from June. New tickets go on sale this week due to popular demand.

Joining Shane Jacobson and Todd McKenney, who play Oscar and Felix, will be stage and screen stars Lucy Durack and Penny McNamee as Cecily Pigeon and Gwendolyn Pigeon, the giggly pair of English sisters who live upstairs from Oscar. 

Lucy and Penny played alongside each other in the original Australian cast of the Broadway blockbuster musical Wicked. Lucy has conquered the stage with Private Lives, Shrek and her award-winning role in Legally Blonde, and on screen in The Letdown, Upper Middle Bogan and Doctor Doctor. Penny has performed on stage in Hurlyburly, Bells Are Ringing and City of Angels and on television in Salem’s Lot, Steven Spielberg’s The Pacific and for six years as Dr Tori Morgan on Home and Away, which saw her nominated for a Logie Award.

The poker loving friends of Oscar will be played by John Batchelor (Sea Patrol, Red Dog), Laurence Coy (Ladies in Black, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest), Jamie Oxenbould (Chapter Two, Last of the Red Hot Lovers) and Anthony Taufa (Black is the New White, A Christmas Carol), with Berynn Schwerdt (The Crucible, Much Ado About Nothing) and Hayden Spencer (Deadloch, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) as understudies.

The Odd Couple will be directed by Mark Kilmurry, the Artistic Director of the Ensemble Theatre in Sydney where he has previously directed The Odd Couple and other Neil Simon classics. Mark has written, directed and performed in countless theatre productions around the world, from London to New York to New Zealand, and has also worked in film and television, including writing and directing his feature film Being Gavin (2019) that has screened at several international film festivals.

Fresh from the West End, Cameron Mackintosh and Disney Theatrical Group announce the enchanting return of MARY POPPINS for a 2024/2025 UK and Ireland tour. 

Celebrating two decades since its Bristol debut, the production features acclaimed Australian stars Stefanie Jones and Jack Chambers reprising their roles as Mary Poppins and Bert.
